The Township of Mahwah is a 26.7 square mile ideal suburban community situated to take advantage of the natural beauty of the picturesque Ramapo Mountains and the crystal clear Ramapo River on its northwestern border. It has a wide range of housing including charming Cape Cods, stately historic homes, townhouse and condominium communities and million-dollar mansions. Mahwah has been able to keep its small town character while attracting commercial enterprises. Many large corporations such as NET-A-PORTER, Sharp, Jaguar, Stryker, Seiko, and UPS have chosen Mahwah as their corporate home.

Shopping & Dining

While Mahwah has plenty of its own small shopping centers and restaurants, such as the famous State Line Diner, it's also just minutes away from Woodbury Commons Premium Shopping Outlets. Residents also enjoy a variety of premium retailers and theme restaurants at the nearby expansive Palisades Shopping Center, plus ice-skating, the Imax Movie Theater, and a ride on the Ferris wheel for the thrill seekers and romantics.

Getting Around

The historic Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) as well as State Highway Route 17 and Interstate Highway 287 cross through Mahwah's boundaries. NJ Transit rail service is available from the Mahwah station to Secaucus Junction, Hoboken Terminal, and Newark on the Main Line and Bergen County Line. Passengers may also take advantage of express service on the same line from the Suffern station, just across the New York state line. Short Line Bus offers service to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan and intermediate locations.
