Nothing gets me in the holiday spirit like attending some of these once-a-year events and performances! I hope you find something on this list that becomes your new tradition. If you have any more ideas for holiday fun, I’d love to hear them.
Van Saun Park – Winter Wonderland is back at Van Saun Park, featuring ice skating, kids games, food trucks & beer and wine garden. In addition, the Bergen County Zoo is hosting the brand new ‘Let It Glow: A Holiday Lantern Spectacular’.
Holiday Lights – Enjoy some of the local drive-thru holiday light displays at Demarest Farms, Skylands Stadium or PNC Bank Arts Center. Some include holiday markets, fire pits and kids activities and are open thru the end of December or even into January. You can also keep it simple and drive or walk around your local neighborhood to admire holiday decorations.
New York City – If you’re venturing into the city, you’ll want to stop by Rockefeller Center. Get a glimpse of the tree, do some ice skating at the famous rink or reserve tickets for the Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes.
Holiday in the Park – Six Flags Great Adventure is a one-stop shop during the holidays with dazzling light displays, entertaining shows and holiday meals, in addition to their normal rides and games. You can also opt for a drive-thru experience on select nights.
Local Performances – With so many local Performing Arts Centers, you can see a traditional version of the Nutcracker ballet, enjoy the sounds of a Mannheim Steamroller concert or catch a live version of A Charlie Brown Christmas.
